Process
How Major works
1
Apply and get matched with a real company
Apply & Secure Your Spot — Submit an application and pay a fully refundable deposit. This guarantees their interest but is 100% refunded if they don’t get matched with a company or receive a project
Get paired with a vetted company partner — If accepted, students will be matched with a real company and receive a list of project opportunities tailored to their profile.
Confirm & begin — Once matched, students pay the remaining program fee and begin their 8–12 week project with the company.
2
Work on your
personal projectPaired with a company mentor — You’ll have regular check-ins with someone from the company who will guide you and give real-world feedback.
Solo or with teammates — Work on your project alone or do it together with a peer to share the workload.
3
Strengthen your college application
Package your project into a standout portfolio — Turn your work into a polished case study you can include in college applications, interviews, and scholarships.
Use your experience in essays and interviews — You’ll be able to write about real challenges you faced, how you solved them, and what you learned.
Show initiative and impact — Admissions officers love students who take action. Your Major project shows you’re curious, driven, and capable of working in the real world.

Tim Wijaya is a builder and educator at heart.
He’s founded multiple startups, raised money from the top VCs in Southeast Asia and San Francisco, and led product/growth teams across different companies.
In high school, Tim started three student-led organizations, including Athletic Clubs, Non-Profits to help the less fortunate, and Inter-School Organizations.
He was admitted to Brown University, Georgetown University, London School of Economics, Boston University, Boston College, Northeastern University, American University, King's College London, and the University of Toronto.
He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Brown University.

Anthony Suryaputra previously co-founded Newman’s (YC W20), one of the first Indonesian companies funded by Y Combinator — the world’s top startup investor behind consequential companies like Airbnb, Stripe, and Coinbase.
After Newman’s, he joined Argor Capital Management, a US$400M investment fund backing the next generation of Southeast Asian companies.
Earlier in his career, he advised Fortune 500 companies at Roland Berger, worked in investment banking at J.P. Morgan, and served in the Jakarta Governor’s office helping reform business licensing. Now, he’s building the kind of program he wishes he had in high school — one that turns potential into real-world proof.
Anthony holds an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California.
